YCB Truckers Intervention Project- Ichapuram

The project was initiated in Ichapuram town on 1st January 2021 after getting sanction from AP State AIDS control society, Amaravathi. The present report is for the period from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023 for the activities under taken as per the action plan for 2022-23. 

 

There are 10 Major sites and 49Truckers halting points identified along side of National High Way-16 from Pydi Bheemavaram to Purushothapuram interstate boarder covering a distance of 163 KMs

 Achievement from April’22 to March’23

  • 80 Truckers were given awareness on HIV and their data was captured through SNA meetings.

  • 44320 Truckers were met in 2640 camps and conducted IPC sessions and mobilized them for services.

  • 4680 Truckers were screened in 145 CBS camps conducted by our staff.

  • Health services were provided to 10317 Truckers in 192 health camps conducted by  Qualified Doctors.

  • Conducted 24 Advocacy Meetings and sought support from 360 secondary stake holders.

  • Conducted 36 demand generation activities and created awareness 876 HRGs and generated demand for services.

  • 20 Mid Media campaigns were conducted in halting points and created awareness on HIV/ AIDS and its impact on the society. The activity helped to reach general population up to 850 stakeholders directly

  • ​4 congregation meetings with health providers, police, transport officers and public representatives were conducted to make them aware of the bad impact of HIV on Truckers as well as general population.  It helped to sought their support for extending services to truckers smoothly.

  • 565 spouses/ partners treatment was conducted during 38 camps and identified - HIV +ves.

  • The entire project activities were successfully implemented by Programe      Manager with the support of 4 Health Educators, ANM, Monitoring and evaluation assistant, 10 Peer Educators and under the guidance of Project Director.
